On board sailing tuition and safety at sea advice.

My name is Stephen Prinselaar, I hold a Royal Yachting Association Yacht Master Offshore Certificate with STCW commercial endorsements from 2019.

I also have over 45 000 miles offshore sailing experience in most of the world’s oceans on a variety of monohulls and catamarans. It’s this experience I want to share with you on board your yacht, or my 38’ catamaran, with the aim of giving you the confidence and enjoyment to master every aspect of your sailing dreams.

We will cover: Preparing the boat, food and spares, planning the trip, charts and plotters, briefing the crew on safety, rope cleat work, departing the marina, sailing, weather, sea states, tides, choosing an anchorage, anchoring safely, departing, arriving at the marina.

We will also cover off: Practical MOB exercises, radio VHF, reefing, storm tactics, sea sickness, life rafts, grab bags and flare packs and other areas of safe seamanship.

My objective is to ensure that you are confident and capable in your new vessel and ready to enjoy the greatest adventures safely with your family and friends.

Thank you and happy sailing.
