2003 Ocean Spirit 35 ‘Stray Cat’

Stray cat is a 35 ‘cruising catamaran, UK design and built in South Africa of solid GRP. She has everything you’d find on much bigger catamarans with a few nice surprises that elevate her further as the perfect entry level bridge deck catamaran that is affordable to buy and economical to berth and maintain.
Straycat was imported into New Zealand soon after it was commissioned in 2003 and joined the charter company Straycat Charters, based in Bay Of Islands, North Island, New Zealand.

The catamaran was designed by Richard Woods (famous catamaran designer of UK) for Coplan Yacht builders based in South Africa. Hull lines are very similar to the Woods Transit 38.

Straycat is a cruiser with a good turn of speed. Hull shape and rig setup make it a very safe and conservative cruising catamaran. Construction is of Polyester GRP with Balsa core in deck areas. Beaching keels are further protected by keel shoes.

The designer has incorporated a galley up layout with good sized saloon and cockpit areas giving it a modern light and airy look and feel. Four double cabins with two heads make Straycat very suitable for two families.
