Keep calm and carry on sailing.

1959 Woollacott Classic 6.7m ‘Calm’

NZ$28,000

Calm is a 1959 Woollacott Classic 6.7m, built of strip cedar and in pristine sailing condition.
Fully equipped for gulf cruising this beautiful example is often taken for overnight sails around the Barrier for the joy of the sail. Everything has been meticulously maintained or replaced to create the perfect blend of timeless tradition with the convenince of contemporary electronics and engine.

This incredibly capable sea boat had a thorough refit to make her better and stronger than new so needs nothing to spend on her to begin enjoying the true art of sailing in a modern classic. The price repesents a fraction of what has been lavished upon her.

In 2015, ‘Calm’ was delivered into the care of Kevin Johnston Boatbuilders. Over 3 months everything was progressively brought back to pristine condition and in many areas better and stronger than new.

She is equipped like a little ship with the Woollacott reputation for sturdy sea handling capabilities in boisterous conditions. She loves a bit of wind.

She will maintain a steady 5 knots under full sail. In optimum conditions it would be around 6.5 knots. Her wardrobe consists of a fully battened mainsail, slab reefing, genoa on profurl roller furler, a gennaker and a storm sail all in good condition. All the lines lead back to the cockpit for safe, short handed sailing. She has a current PHRF certificate.

Powered by a 10 Hp Nanni with 280 hours ‘Calm’ will make 5 knots. Needless to say she is immaculate too.

She has various modern features blending perfectly amongst the built in tradition that maker her the classic she is. Raymarine chartplotter, wind  and depth in the cockpit, solar, new fridge, Fusion Bluetooth stereo, good safety gear, fire extinguishers, EPIRB, VHF, hand bearing compass, Zodiac tender and everything you need to go adventuring on board.

If Swallows and Amazons and other childhood inspirations still lurks in your dreams this is the dream come true. Now you can make it real.
